How this site
was made.
A short note for anyone who's curious about the type, the tools, and the small decisions that built this place.
Last revised
01 Set in
Fraunces, the variable serif by Phaedra Charles & Flavia Sarescia, with the SOFT and WONK axes turned up for character. Used for headlines and the big italic moments.
Geist & Geist Mono, by Vercel. Body text, labels, the live clock, the row of small numerals.
02 Built with
Astro 5 for the static site, with content collections so each project and job is a small Markdown file rather than a row in a database.
Lenis for the soft, page-turning scroll. Hand-written CSS, no framework. Custom cursor, magnetic project rows, and one quiet easter egg in honour of Luney.
The live now playing widget is a small Cloudflare Worker that proxies the Spotify API, so credentials stay private. The site serves from Plesk over a tiny Express entry point.
03 Designed in
The browser, mostly. A small notebook for hero copy. Tea throughout.
The aesthetic is, roughly, kept like a notebook. Editorial serifs, single tomato accent, asymmetric grid, generous breathing room. Cream on ink in light mode; cream on cool charcoal in dark.
04 A short list of thanks
To everyone who builds beautiful free type. To the personal-web people who keep showing what one person can put together with a weekend and a domain. To Cloudflare's free tier. To tea.
